About Principia Wines
From 2008 Principia Wines will be classified into three different levels:
FORIS - meaning entrance/opening in Latin, will be used for our starting level wines.
PRINCIPIA - for our estate level wines.
ALTIOR - meaning even higher in Latin, for our special wines.
These wines will be classified prior to bottling, so in some years some of these wines may not be available, for instance there will only be a Principia pinot for the 2009 vintage.
All wines are produced from grapes grown at Principia Vineyard.

Chardonnay
As usual for our Chardonnay, it has great concentration and balance, with beautiful line and length. Flavours of grapefruit, grilled nuts and French Oak are seamlessly woven together to make a great impression.

2008
Foris Pinot Noir
This wine has a deep cherry red appearance. The perfumed nose displays earthy aromas and black cherries. There is an initial burst of sweet fruit and the mid palate is complex and savoury with hints of cherries and raspberry. A silky and elegant mouthfeel is complimented by balanced mineral acidity, a soft tannin finish and generous length of flavour.

Available in limited quantities only, this wine is our very first Reserve Pinot. It opens with star anise and cloves on the nose, leading on to a spicy long palate with perfect balance. A wine already drinking beautifully now....
